The 2023 summer transfer window has closed, but players in the Premier League still find themselves at the centre of swirling exit speculation, Reelradio.com.ng reports.
While most European teams have concluded their business, those in Belgium, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey still have their transfer windows open for at least another week.
Premier League clubs will be hoping to take advantage of the extended windows to offload some of their fringe players, so there could still be some movement before the end of the week.
As the clock ticks down, we have identified ten players who could bid farewell to the Premier League this week.
Nicolas Pepe – Arsenal to Besiktas
Nicolas Pepe will be hoping to get some respite from his ill-fated four-year spell at the Emirates Stadium if his anticipated transfer to Besiktas goes through.
The Ivorian is one of the top earners at Arsenal, and they will be relieved to get his high wages off their books this summer.
Tanguy Ndombele – Tottenham Hotspur to Galarasaray
Despite his best efforts to force his way into the first team, new manager Ange Postecoglou does not see Tanguy Ndombele as part of his long-term plans.
With an already jampacked squad to deal with, Tottenham Hotspur are more than willing to let Galatasaray take him off their hands on a season-long loan with a purchase option.
Davinson Sanchez – Tottenham Hotspur to Galatasaray
Another one of Tottenham’s numerous deadweights they are looking to flog while there is still time, Davinson Sanchez is expected to link up with Ndombele at Galatasaray, although on a permanent deal.
Eric Bailly – Manchester United to Besiktas
Eric Bailly has long been aware that his career at Old Trafford is dead in the water, but his previously reported move to Olympique Marseille failed to materialise.
The Ivorian may now have to settle for a move to Turkey with Besiktas keen to land his signature, although his wages could pose a challenge for the Super Lig giants.
Donny van de Beek – Manchester United to Galatasaray
Not even a reunion with Erik ten Hag was enough to spur Donny van de Beek on to greater things since earning his dream move to Old Trafford three years ago.
Perhaps a move to the Super Lig can jolt life into his dwindling career, with Galatasaray keen to take him on a season-long loan.
Jorginho – Arsenal to Fenerbahce
Having seen Arsenal splash £100m to sign Declan Rice over the summer, Jorginho’s long-term future at the Emirates has been subject to intense speculation over the last few weeks.
The 31-year-old has only played 17 minutes of Premier League football this season but could be offered an escape route this week, with Fenerbahce reportedly considering extending an olive branch.
Philippe Coutinho – Aston Villa to Al Duhail
Having struggled to break into Unai Emery’s plans, Coutinho is reportedly on the cusp of joining Qatari title holders Al Duhail on a permanent deal.
The former Liverpool man was linked with a number of European clubs over the summer but will see out the rest of his career in the Middle East.
Demarai Gray – Everton to Al Ettifaq
Despite a public spat with Everton boss Sean Dyche, the Toffees have refused to sanction a summer exit for Demarai Gray.
The Jamaican forward, who has one year left on his Everton contract, was expected to join Saudi Pro League side Al Shabab, but the move fell through.
However, Steven Gerrard’s Al Ettifaq remain interested in a potential €8m deal with a four-year contract being discussed – assuming Everton shifts their stance on the player’s future.
Pablo Fornals – West Ham United to Saudi Pro League
West Ham United have made some shrewd acquisitions this summer but are braced for offers from the Saudi Pro League for Pablo Fornals.
The Spanish midfielder has started his last three appearances for the Hammers from the bench but remains one of David Moyes’ most trusted players.
West Ham are considering a short-term contract for Jesse Lingard, which could push Fornals closer to his Saudi suitors before the end of the week.
