Three additional players have joined the Super Eagles in Abidjan, increasing the total number of players in camp to eleven, just two days ahead of the national team’s match against Benin’s Cheetahs in a 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium.
Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi, Sevilla striker Kelechi Iheanacho, and Udinese goalkeeper Maduka Okoye are expected to participate in the Super Eagles’ first training session on today after reporting for international duty.
The initial group of players, including Gabriel Osho, Frank Onyeka, Raphael Onyedika, Amas Obasogie, Moses Simon, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, Samuel Chukwueze, and Bruno Onyemaechi, arrived at the national team camp on Monday, November 11.
Nigeria’s interim coach Augustine Eguavoen and his staff are preparing to welcome twelve additional invited players: Stanley Nwabali, William Troost-Ekong, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Victor Collins, Calvin Bassey, Ola Aina, Alhassan Yusuf, Alex Iwobi, Umar Sadiq, Ademola Lookman, Victor Boniface, and Victor Osimhen.
The Super Eagles require just one point from their final two matches to secure qualification for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
