Jerome Akor will officially be a player of French Ligue 1 club Montpellier Monday after he passed a routine medical, Reelradio.com.ng reports.
According to reports, Akor’s Norwegian club, Lillestrom and Montpellier have agreed a transfer fee of €5m for the striker.
Montpellier’s interest in Akor was spurred by Stephy Mavdidi’s departure to Leicester City.
The striker is serving out a two-match ban for a red card in a Norwegian league game and this will be over Sunday.
The 23-year-old has been in impressive form, emerging as the leading scorer in Norway’s current season, netting 15 goals and providing three assists in just 15 games.
Akor’s prolific goal-scoring prowess caught the attention of Montpellier, who moved swiftly to secure his services.
Akor’s journey in Norway began when he joined Lillestrom from another Norwegian club, Sogndal, last year.
During his time with Lillestrom, he displayed outstanding performance, registering an impressive record of 23 goals in 37 league appearances for the Canaries.
