Aribo, Onuachu Strike to End Southampton’s Losing Streak

Southampton’s Nigerian duo, Joe Aribo and Paul Onuachu, were the heroes as their struggling side beat Ipswich 2-1 in Saturday’s Premier League game.

Aribo opened the scoring in the 21st minute, netting his third goal in 23 league appearances this season. However, Ipswich drew level just 10 minutes later through Liam Delap.

The match seemed to be heading for a draw until Onuachu popped up with the winner in the 87th minute. The goal was Onuachu’s second in 14 games this season.

The victory was a much-needed boost for Southampton, who had lost six consecutive league games prior to Saturday’s match. Despite the win, however, the Saints remain bottom of the Premier League table with just nine points from 20 games.

They are still eight points adrift of safety, but the win over Ipswich will provide some hope that they can turn their season around.
