Nigeria Representative Enyimba crashed out of the CAF Champions League after they were held to a 0-0 draw by Libya’s Al Ahly Benghazi in Aba on Sunday, Reelradio.com.ng reports.
Against all odds, they played a goalless draw against visiting Libyan sides, Al Ahly Benghazi and thus got eliminated 4-3 in aggregate.
The home fans were left disappointed at the end as a 1-0 win would have seen Enyimba scale through to the second round.
Coach Finidi George tutored Enyimba FC laboured in vain under the rain for a goal which would have secured victory for the Peoples Elephants but Al Ahli Benghazi held on to progress.
The People’s Elephant will now shift attention to their preparations for the new NPFL season
