After drawing a bye in the first round of the preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup, Nigeria representative Rivers United’s opponent for the second round has been confirmed, Reelradio.com.ng reports.
Etoile Filante of Burkina Faso has now been confirmed as the second-round opponent of the former Nigeria Premier League champion.
Etoile Filante cruised t0 next stage, following a 0-0 stalemate draw against Senegal’s Casa Sports Ziguinchor at the AU Stade De La Paix De Bouake on Sunday.
The Burkinabes club qualified via away goals rule having played out a 1-1 spoil draw in the first leg at Senegal.
The two legged match is billed to take place in September.
Etoile Filante will entertain Pride of Rivers in first leg on Saturday, September 15, while the reverse fixture will take place two weeks later in Port Harcourt.
Nigeria’s other representative in the competition, Bendel Insurance will lock horn against RS Berkane at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium for the first leg on September 16.
