Chukwueze tipped to start in Derby della Madonnina

Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze could get his first start for AC Milan at the San Siro in one of the biggest games of the Italian Serie A, the Derby della Madonnina that comes after the international break, Reelradio.com.ng reports.

Christian Pulisic has started all three league games on the right wing so far due to the fact he joined earlier in the summer and has thus had more time to learn Stefano Pioli’s instructions and get to 100% condition.

He has rewarded the head coach for his trust by scoring twice already, meaning that he is considered by many to be undroppable at the moment, while Chukwueze who arrived in a deal worth €28m has been coming off the bench.

Reports states that Chukwueze could already have a big chance to show what he can do as a starter in the derby against Inter on September 17.

The former Villarreal winger will leave to represent the Nigerian national team but he will also be the first to return to Milanello given that, unlike his team-mates, he will only play one match on September 10 against São Tomé e Príncipe

He could therefore be the chosen one to play on the right wing in the derby, especially given that Pulisic – as well as Yunus Musah too – will be the last to return from representing the United States.

If given the nod ahead of the former Chelsea winger, Chukwueze could show Pioli what he is capable of doing, and that might give the Italian boss a dilemma on who he should be starting in the position.
