Enyimba drawn against Egyptian powerhouses in CAF Confederation Cup group stage

The Confederation of African Football has announced the group draws for the 2024/2025 Confederation Cup, as reported by Reelradio.com.ng.

Enyimba International, representing Nigeria, is one of the 16 clubs placed into four groups of four teams each. According to the draw held on Monday, the People’s Elephants will face off in Group D against the prominent Egyptian clubs Zamalek and Al Masry alongside debutant Black Bulls of Mozambique.

The top two teams in the group will qualify for the knockout round of the competition.

Enyimba booked their spot in the money spinning group stage after edging past Etoile Filante of Burkina Faso on penalties in the second preliminary round.

The People’s Elephant will be looking to make history as the  first Nigerian club to win Africa’s second tier club competition.

The specific fixture details will be finalized in due course, but the matchdays are outlined as follows:

The group stage is set to begin with Matchday 1 on 26-27 November, followed by Matchday 2 occurring on 6-8 December.

The following matchdays are scheduled for 13-15 December (Matchday 3), 3-5 January 2025 (Matchday 4), 10-12 January 2025 (Matchday 5), and concluding with Matchday 6 on 17-19 January 2025.
