The Super Eagles of Nigeria clinched an important win in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Rwanda, thanks to a remarkable brace from star striker Victor Osimhen.

Nigeria maintained control throughout the match, and their efforts were rewarded again in the 40th minute. A delightful pass from AC Milan’s Samuel Chukwueze found Osimhen, who showed remarkable composure to chip the ball over Ntwari for his second goal – and his 25th international goal for Nigeria.
Osimhen netted again just before halftime, gathering a header from Chukwueze, before sprinting clear and delicately lobbing the goalkeeper to extend Nigeria’s lead. With the game well in hand, Osimhen was substituted in the 77th minute for Tolu Arokodare, who made his debut with the Super Eagles.
The strategic decision helped Nigeria maintain their clean sheet and secure a well-deserved victory.
