In a historic move, Katsina United Football Club’s talented midfielder, Sadiq Abubakar Usman, popularly known as “Daddy Matic,” has embarked on a trial at Egyptian Premier League giants, Zamalek FC.
The trial, sponsored by Katsina United FC, is a significant milestone for the club and the state, marking the first time a homegrown player has been sponsored for a trial abroad.
Chairman Alh Kabir Dan’lami Rimi, who led the club in sponsoring the player’s trip, wished Sadiq Abubakar Usman a successful journey on behalf of the management, players, technical crew, staff, and sports-loving people in the state.
“We are proud to support Sadiq’s dream of playing at the highest level,” Chairman Rimi said. “We charge him to maintain excellent behavior and make the most of this opportunity to achieve success.”
During his trial at Zamalek FC, Sadiq Abubakar Usman will have the option to trial with two other Egyptian clubs if he does not secure a deal with the White Knights.
This move is a testament to Katsina United FC’s commitment to developing local talent and providing opportunities for players to shine on the international stage.
We wish Sadiq Abubakar Usman the best of luck in his trial and look forward to seeing him make a name for himself in Egyptian football!
