According to The Daily Star, new co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS have been impressed by McTominay’s performances and believe that the Scotland international can be a key player for the future and are willing to hand him both a new deal and a pay rise.

The 27 year-old has been a polarizing figure since graduating to the first-team squad at Manchester United since gaining promotion to the senior team under Jose Mourinho during his stint with the Red Devils and the player has not looked back since then, becoming a regular face in the middle of the park.
The Scot is the joint top-scorer in the league for Manchester United with seven goals along with Rasmus Hojlund and Marcus Rashford but his goals have come at key moments and have been worth a league-high 12 points.
He was dubbed the “most clutch player” this season by the club and while many have criticised his effectiveness as a starter, there is no denying his impact.
Although, there were reports earlier about The Red Devils once considering parting ways with the midfielder, Scott McTominay will remain at Manchester United beyond the summer transfer window as Sir Jim Ratcliffe has vetoed that decision and sanctioned a new contract for the productive midfielder.
In what is turning out to be his best season at Manchester United, McTominay has contributed 12 goals in 34 appearances across all competitions, finding the back of the net nine times while providing three assists.
McTominay currently has a £60,000-a-week contract ends in less than 18 months, thus justifying Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s decision to hand him a new contract, doubling his current earnings at the club. There had been interest from West Ham and Newcastle in securing his signature but United are keen to tie him down.
The Scotland star is a lifelong United fan and has made 243 appearances for the club in total. In that time, he has netted 28 goals and provided eight assists, while also winning 41 caps for his country.
McTominay could next be in action against Brentford when the Premier League returns on Saturday. They are currently sixth in the table.
