Morocco, the host nation for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), has announced the nine stadiums that will host the tournament matches, marking a historic first for the competition. The host nation has expanded the number of venues from six to nine, ensuring a unique and unforgettable experience for players, officials, and fans.
The nine stadiums, spread across seven cities, are a testament to Morocco’s commitment to delivering a world-class tournament. The three new additions in the capital, Rabat, include the Stade Moulay Hassan (12,000 seats), Stade al Barid, and Stade du Fath Union Sport, both with a capacity of 15,000 spectators. These state-of-the-art facilities complement the already established venues, such as the Moulay Abdellah Complex, the Grand Stade de Tangier, Grand Stade d’Agadir, Grand Stade de Marrakech, Mohammed V Complex in Casablanca, and the Fez Sports Complex.
This infrastructure expansion has enabled the organizers to achieve a significant milestone – for the first time in AFCON history, two consecutive matches will no longer be played on the same pitch on the same day. This innovation will ensure that players have adequate rest and recovery time, ultimately enhancing the overall quality of the tournament.
