Ndidi, Iheanacho Shortlisted for Leicester Goal of the Month Award

Leicester City have announced the nominees for their August Goal of the Month award, with Nigerian internationals, Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho, making the shortlist, Reelradio.com.ng reports.

Iheanacho opened the scoring against Burton Albion in the Carabao Cup with a clever backheel finish from Marc Albrighton’s cross. He later turned provider, beating the offside trap and setting up Ndidi for a composed first-time finish.

Iheanacho and Ndidi have been in superb form, following Leicester’s relegation from the Premier league top flight. The duo were linked with an exit from the King Power Stadium, but the transfer window closed and the Nigerians remained at the club.

Six other goals from across the Club’s Men’s senior and Under-21s sides have been nominated for the monthly award.

To win the award, the Nigerian duo have to see off competition from Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Stephy Mavididi, Amani Richards, Zach Booth, Wanya Marçal and Kasey McAteer.

Voting is now open until Friday, September 22.
