The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) will officially unveil Éric Sékou Chelle as the new Head Coach of the Super Eagles on Monday in Abuja. The press event is scheduled for 11am at the Media Conference Room of the MKO Abiola National Stadium.

Chelle’s appointment was confirmed by the NFF Executive Committee after being recommended by the Technical and Development Committee.

The 47-year-old Franco-Malian coach takes over at a critical time, as the Super Eagles prepare for their remaining six matches in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign.

NFF President Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau expressed confidence in Chelle’s fresh perspective and positive attitude, calling on Nigerians to rally behind the new coach.

During the unveiling, the NFF will also announce Chelle’s assistant coaches, and the team will prepare for the African Nations Championship next month before focusing on World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe in March.

Before joining the Super Eagles, Chelle guided Mali’s national team close to the semi-finals of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations and left his position at MC Oran, a top Algerian club.
