Super Eagles’ star William Troost-Ekong is close to finalizing his transfer to Saudi Arabia.
The Nigerian international, who became a member of PAOK in 2023, is preparing to depart from Greece after only a year with the club.
Troost Ekong’s exceptional performance played a pivotal role in securing the Super League title for PAOK last season, with a remarkable record of six clean sheets.
Notably, his contribution was also evident in PAOK’s first-leg victory in the Champions League playoffs against Borac.
The impressive performances of Troost-Ekong have attracted the interest of clubs in Saudi Arabia, with Al-Kholood emerging as the frontrunners in securing his signature.
According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Troost-Ekong and his agent, David Moss, are en route to finalize the transfer.
This move will see Troost-Ekong become part of an increasing number of Super Eagles players who have competed in the top tier of Saudi Arabian football, following in the footsteps of Odion Ighalo and Ahmed Musa.
Since his debut for Nigeria in 2015, Troost-Ekong has accumulated 77 caps and netted 7 goals for his country, including three during the 2023 AFCON.
