NPFL: Bright Ozebagbe quits as Ikorodu City head coach; amid poor league start

0

Head Coach Bright Ozebagbe announced his resignation from Ikorodu City FC, attributing his decision to irreconcilable differences with the club’s management and a growing sense of being undervalued, as reported by Reelradio.com.ng.

Although he successfully guided the team to a significant promotion to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), Ozebagbe expressed that the current environment was detrimental to his well-being. “I am not happy in my role, feeling unappreciated, and I need to prioritize my mental health by stepping away from the club to explore new opportunities,” he stated.

Under Ozebagbe’s leadership, the team has struggled significantly, recording just one draw and four losses in their first five matches, resulting in a disappointing total of one point from a possible 15. The ongoing lack of success has intensified pressure on the club, leading to Ozebagbe’s decision to resign. His exit leaves Ikorodu City in search of a new coach to help redirect the team’s fortunes. Further updates will follow.
