OFFICIAL: Emmanuel Dennis joins Turkish side Istanbul Basaksehir on loan from Nottingham

Nigeria International Emmanuel Dennis has completed a season-long loan move to Istanbul Basaksehir from Nottingham Forest, reports.

Dennis will be spending the remainder of the 2023-2024 season on loan at Istanbul Basaksehir with no option to buy included in the deal.

The Nigeria international has found game time hard to come by since his arrival at the City Ground last summer, making only nine starts from a possible 49 in all competitions.

It could be recalled that the Nigeria international was left out of Forest’s 25-man Premier League squad on Wednesday.

Speaking after his loan move was confirmed, Dennis said to Istanbul Basaksehir’s media team: “My first encounter with Başakşehir was when Club Brugge played against them in qualification for the Champions League.

“My big brother Emmanuel Adebayor played the game as well so we had a conversation after the game and he invited me later to Istanbul.

“I met him here, we relaxed, went to his house together, spent the whole day together. He told me few things about the club.

“It was just in my head and then recently I received a message from my agent that the club were interested in me.

“I said it’s a nice place, I’m familiar with them because I’ve been to the stadium, I have played against them, I’ve had few friends who played here, they always tell me good stories about the people, the club, so I decided to come here.

“The club is doing really good. In the past few periods, they’ve played about 50 games in Europe which is a lot, shows they are growing.

“I spoke to my big brother Emmanuel Adebayor, gave me a positive report and good feeling and then I had a good feeling as well so that’s one of the reasons I’m here and I really like here already.”
