Super Eagles goalkeeper Olorunleke Ojo has officially joined Wolwalo Adigrat University, a team competing in the Ethiopian Premier League.
This strategic addition aims to strengthen Wolwalo’s lineup, especially after the team conceded 24 goals this season. Coach Tsegaye Kidanemariam believes that incorporating experienced players like Ojo is vital for the club’s chances of staying in the league.
Having recently concluded his stint with Sudanese club El-Merreikh, Ojo is now available for transfer and has signed a five-month contract with Wolwalo.
“I have great expectations for my journey at Wolwalo,” Ojo expressed.
“I received offers from clubs in Saudi Arabia, Iran, Kuwait, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, but I chose Wolwalo due to its professional management.”
“I’m genuinely thrilled to be here; it’s a privilege to don the yellow jersey and represent Wolwalo. I am committed to giving my all for the club and its supporters.”

Ojo brings a wealth of experience to Wolwalo, having played for clubs like Giwa FC, Sunshine Stars, Abia Warriors, and Enyimba. His consistent performances have made him a reliable goalkeeper.
He was also part of Nigeria’s squad at the recent Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire, where the team earned a silver medal.
