Nigeria’s head coach, Jose Paseiro, has spoken of the difficulty of winning matches in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2023 tournament.
He noted that the competition is challenging, but that the team is determined to persevere and give their best. He stressed that every match is important and the team is focused on performing to the best of their abilities.
In his interaction with Press Men, “it will be difficult, but we will prepare because it is not easy to win a match in this competition”, he said.
On Victor Osimhen’s lack of goal scoring, he said. “Fine, goals are important. The team’s objective is to win matches, regardless of the scoreline. For the next game, Victor will score, he has scored just one goal in the tournament, wait for our next match, he will definitely score”, he concluded.
With no goals conceded in the last 2 matches and no defeat, Jose Peseiro will lead the team to face the Indomitable lions of Cameroon in the round of 16 on Saturday with the same focus, determination and commitment in other to move to the quarter finals.
