Rivers Angels Unveil New Squad, Coach, and Jersey Ahead of NWFL25 Season
In a grand ceremony held on Sunday, January 12, 2024, at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium, Elekhia, Rivers Angels Football Club unveiled their new squad, head coach, and jersey ahead of the 2024/2025 Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL) season.
The occasion, which commenced at 2 pm, was graced by the Special Guest of Honor, the Honorable Commissioner for Youth and Sport, Rivers State, Barrister Christopher Green, and other dignitaries from Rivers State.
Rivers Angels have signed a total of 14 new players, comprising two goalkeepers, two defenders, four midfielders, and six attackers. The new signings are expected to bolster the team’s chances of success in the upcoming season.
The new players are:
– Fatima Oloko (Goalkeeper)
– Mgbechi (Goalkeeper) from Delta Queens
– Aweda Titilayo (Defender) from Edo Queens
– Taiwo Afolabi (Attacker) from Delta Queens
– Saka Sadiat from Osun Babes
– Yusuf Nana (Midfielder) from Confluence Queens
– Nwachukwu Chisom (Attacker) from Delta Queens
– Aganmuyi Taiwo (Attacker) from Sunshine Queens
– Chidera Okenwa (Midfielder) from Delta Queens
– Blessing Ifitezue (Attacker) from Delta Queens
– Anike Azeez (Defender) from New Generation Club
– Ajibade Taiwo (Attacker) from Sunshine Queens
In addition to the new signings, Rivers Angels have also retained 15 players from last season’s squad. Some of the retained players include:

The team has also appointed a new head coach, Tosan Bob Blankson, who is expected to lead the team to success in the upcoming season.
To commemorate the new season, Rivers Angels have also unveiled their new jersey, which was showcased during the ceremony.
