Serie A Udinese Terminates Isaac Success Contract

Udinese has today announced that they have reached and signed an agreement with Isaac Success for the mutual termination of his contract.

The top scorer with seven goals at the 2013 U17 Africa Cup of Nations returned for a second spell at Bianconeri in the summertime of 2021 from Watford.

Success wasn’t even included in the matchday squad as Udinese got their Italian league season underway with a win against Spezia on August 23, indicating that he’s being left behind by his paymasters.

The BJ Foundation academy product is departing from Udinese after making 83 appearances across all competitions, including 41 starts in Serie A.

Over the course of 3,866 minutes of play spread across three seasons, Success accumulated 23 goal involvements, comprising 6 goals and 17 assists.

During the summer transfer window, Udinese has been notably active, acquiring Lorenzo Lucca, Damián Pizarro, Iker Bravo, and Alexis Sánchez. The addition of these four players has consequently relegated Success further down the hierarchy of forwards within the team.

Regarded as one of the brightest prospects in English football for some time, Success has represented Nigeria at a number of youth levels before making his senior debut during an international friendly against Senegal in London on March 23, 2017.

He has been frozen out of the Super Eagles set-up following a loss of form and injuries after making his fourth appearance here in Asaba — against Uganda in an international friendly penultimate year.

In addition to the above clubs, Success had stints at both Malaga in Spain during the second half of 17/18 and has also played for Granada.
