Sporting Lagos FC has confirmed the sacking of Coach Paul Offor with 8 games left to play till the end of season.
Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) side based in Lagos relieved the manager of his duties over poor performance in the ongoing football season.
This was disclosed by a statement on their official X page.
The statement reads: “ Sporting Lagos announces the departure of Head Coach Paul Offor.
“Coach Paul brought top-flight football back to our city and gave us the first piece of silverware in our history.
“Thank you for everything, Coach Paul. We wish you the very best in your future endeavours.“
Offor is expected to leave with his assistant coaches, Micah Bello and Edward Green.
Abdullahi Gaffo, former Kwara United coach looks set to take his place although his replacement is yet to be confirmed by the club.
The news has come as a huge shock to fans of the football community considering the number of games left till the end of the season.
Sporting who sit 11th on the log will now focus on remaining in the top half of the NPFL table with the final eight matches left in the season and get maximum points.
