The Super Eagles have returned to Nigeria following their challenging experience in Libya for a 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier.
The players and officials faced a delay of approximately 13 hours at a Libyan airport prior to the match scheduled for Tuesday. Images of the team resting on benches circulated widely on social media early Monday, leading to widespread criticism.
However, the team has successfully arrived in Nigeria after receiving clearance from Libyan authorities for their flight to depart.
The Nigerian squad touched down at Aminu International Airport in Kano shortly after 5 PM on Monday, where they are set to refuel their chartered flight before proceeding to Abuja and Lagos.
