The exit of Finidi George from his role as the head coach of the Super Eagles, has put the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) in a rush to secure a replacement.
With the upcoming Super Eagles’ games set for September, the NFF has a sufficient time frame to find the perfect successor to steer the team into the World Cup.
Here are the three leading candidates jostling for the coaching position.
1. Antonio Conceicao
With outstanding coachiing career gauging several countries, Antonio Conceicao brings a wealth of experience to the Super Eagles guiding part.
His term with CFR Cluj and guiding stints in Cyprus and Saudi Arabia have earned him a character for politic chops and player development.
Despite a successful run with Cameroonian public platoon, his redundancy in 2022 leaves him empty for a return to coaching, making him a compelling seeker for the Super Eagles guiding job.
2. Samson Siasia
A familiar face in Nigerian football, Samson Siasia brags emotional coaching capsule, particularly with youth grades.
His leadership led Nigeria’s Under-23 brigades to tribune homestretches in colour trasnational events, including the Olympic Games.
Despite a FIFA ban related to match- fixing, Siasia’s impending return to guiding deposited him as a strong contender for the Super Eagles part, bringing with him a heritage of success and a hunger to prove himself formerly again on the transnational stage.
3. Salisu Yusuf
His coaching trip has been marked by highs and lows, from winning titles with Kano Pillars to facing contestation over a cash gift reproach.
