Umar Sadiq assumes responsibility of becoming a role model in the UD Almería attack

Umar Sadiq believes that ‘a great project must include a great striker’, so he did not hesitate to somehow put ‘all the pressure’ on himself when it comes to setting a new benchmark for the Rojiblanco team’s attack, Reel Radio reports.

The Nigeria U23 star joined the Spanish second division club on a five-year deal last week to strengthen their attacking options.

Sadiq feels remarkably confident that it will be a successful year collectively at Almeria. The Kaduna-born striker having tasted football in Italy, Scotland and Serbia, is ready to prove his abilities in Spanish football.

When talking about himself, Umar Sadiq says that he is a footballer ‘who likes to bring energy to the group.’ In this sense, he added: ‘I like to motivate my team-mates. To produce positive results… a player has to feel highly motivated and have good vibes.’

Sadiq could make his maiden Almeria start on Saturday when Jose Gomes’ side visit Las Palmas for Saturday’s Segunda Division fixture.

They are 18th in the league table after recording back-to-back defeats and a win in their last three matches.
