There are concerns about the availability of a Nigerian player for their upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against South Africa and Benin Republic, Reelradio.com.ng reports.

The player, who plays for AC Milan, sustained an injury during a recent Serie A game against Cagliari. He had to leave the field and was substituted. After the match, it was confirmed that he has a muscle problem in his left thigh.

The head coach of Super Eagles Finidi George is expected to announce the squad for the fixtures in the coming week.

On Friday, June 7, Super Eagles of Nigeria is scheduled to compete against Bafana Bafana of South Africa at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo. Later on, the three-time African champions will face their neighboring team, Squirrels of Benin Republic.
