Victor Boniface has been recognized for his superb performance during Bayer Leverkusen’s 5-1 thrashing of Darmstadt on Saturday at the BayArena, with celebrated football statistics website Whoscored.com listing him as the top striker in its German Bundesliga Team of the Week, Reelradio.com.ng reports.
The Nigeria international has quickly found his feet since his arrival at the BayArena for a bargain 20 million euros with his brace on Sunday taking his goal involvements for the Black and Reds to an impressive 11 (8 goals, 3 assists) in seven games across all competitions.
The Nigeria international is the player with most shots on goal (36) after five rounds of games in the history of the Bundesliga.
Boniface netted twice against Heidenheim to continue his impressive scoring spree for Xabi Alonso’s side.
And for his effort, Whoscored gave Boniface a 9.05 rating – the fourth best in the Bundesliga at the weekend.
