Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong scored his inaugural goal in the Saudi Pro League as Al Kholood faced a 4-2 defeat at home to Al Hilal on Saturday, according to Reelradio.com.ng.
Al Kholood encountered a challenging match against Al Hilal, the reigning champions who had secured victories in all of their initial four league matches.
Troost-Ekong’s late penalty was insufficient to alter the outcome, as Al Kholood suffered a 4-2 defeat at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium. This goal represented his first in five matches for Al Kholood.
Kalidou Koulibaly, Malcolm, Ali Al Bulahyi and Renan Lodi were all target for Al Hilal.
Hammam Al Hammami reduced the deficit for Al-Khaloood 19 minutes from time.
Troost-Ekong further reduced the deficit from the spot in the 87th minute.
Al Khalood have recorded just one win in the Saudi top-flight this season.
They occupy 12th position on the table with four points from five games.
