Responsibility and accountability are the bedrock of most corporate organizations. The absence of any or all might set the tone for a ripple effect that might be counter productive at the end. Such was the situation, the immediate past coach of Edel FC, Ben Okaro put the club through.

A very top official of the club lamented that he is disappointed in the actions of Mr Okaro while pointing to the fact that not only that Okaro’s managerial stint set Edel FC on course for relegation but the former Enugu Rangers player after he was relieved of his duties carted away with club properties that ran into millions of Naira at the Coach’s apartment in Oba, the former base of the club.

The source told newsmen that efforts to reach the coach and recover the club properties have proven abortive. The properties now at large thanks to Mr Okaro include the following;

a. 3 TV sets
b. A Deep freezer.
c. A 4 in 1 cooking gas plus 12KG cooking cylinder.
d. A giant mattress and bed frame.
e. A generator set
f. DSTV set up
g. Air Condition set up.
h. Cushion chairs among many others.

The anonymous source revealed that this made the club spend another millions to replace these properties to make living easier for the new coaches.

“It will be recalled that Edel FC is a club owned and backed by a private individual. This action of replacing these properties was a difficult thing to do but had to be done for the welfare of the new coaches.” The source informed.

Attached to this write up are the new properties bought by the club recently and sent to the Coach’s quarter now in Awka.

“This is to tell the general public that Ben Okaro stole club properties and is on the run currently. Same Okaro was paid all entitlements including months left in his contract after he was sacked and the club also paid for his return ticket to America where he is based. After such magnanimity, his actions were all opposite of the goodwill the club showed him.” The source concluded.
