Erling Haaland has arrived at the top table of European football like an express train in a hurry to embark towards its next destination.
18 goals in his first 13 Champions League appearances is a phenomenal return, and it means that he’s well on course to score more goals than any footballer before their 21st birthday. Amazingly, this is only the Norwegian’s second Champions League campaign.
PSG superstar and 2018 World Cup winner Kylian Mbappé scored 19 times in the Champions League before his 21st birthday on 20 December 2019. Haaland will only turn 21 on July 21st this year, meaning that he has ample time to hit Mbappé’s mark of 19 and go past it.
☄️ Most UCL goals before turning 21
- 19: 🇫🇷 Kylian Mbappé
- 18*: 🇳🇴 Erling Haaland
- 12: 🇫🇷 Karim Benzema
- 9: 🇳🇱 Patrick Kluivert
- 8: 🇳🇬 Obafemi Martins
- 8: 🇦🇷 Lionel Messi
- 8: 🇪🇸 Raúl

Haaland and Borussia Dortmund teammates hold a 3-2 aggregate lead heading into their 2nd leg round of 16 clashes with Sevilla tonight. Not Norwegian scored two of those goals, unsurprisingly, and he’ll be on the hunt for more at the Westfalenstadion.
