- Dario Canovi believes Victor Osimhen will leave Napoli next summer
- Osimhen recently signed a one-year extension with Napoli until 2026
- The Nigerian is attracting interest from top European clubs like Chelsea
Italian Football agent Dario Canovi claims that Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen will leave Napoli next summer despite signing a new deal, reelradio.com.ng reports.
Victor Osimhen has made significant impact over the past year and it can never be overstated.
The Super Eagles striker played a crucial role in Napoli’s success, contributing to the team’s first Serie A title in 33 years.
He scored 31 goals in all competitions including 26 in the league to not only help secure the Scudetto but also make history by becoming the first African player to clinch the Capocannoniere.
The 24-year-old signed a new one-year contract with the Serie A champions on Christmas eve.
Osimhen now has a contract with Napoli until June 2026.
Canovi predicted that the Partenopei will still sell their talismanic striker despite handing him a new contract.
“Napoli have been in difficulty since the start of the championship. In my opinion the departure of (Luciano) Spalletti and (Cristiano) Giuntoli caused what is happening,” Canovi told TMW.
“Having let both of them leave, the club was practically massacred, they were the cornerstones of Napoli who won. Giuntoli and especially Spalletti.
“Osimhen is a renewal that simply serves to increase the price. In my opinion he will go away in June.”
Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Manchester United, Chelsea, and Arsenal have all been rumoured to be interested in signing Osimhen, whose current transfer clause has risen to €130 million after he penned a new contract with Napoli until 2026.
