Leicester City manager Ruud van Nistelrooy has quashed speculation surrounding Wilfred Ndidi’s potential departure from the club. The Nigerian midfielder has been linked with loan moves to Monaco and Atletico Madrid, with options to buy.

However, Van Nistelrooy has emphasized Ndidi’s importance to the team, stating that the 28-year-old remains a crucial player for the Foxes. “Wilfred is a key player and person in the squad and in the club,” Van Nistelrooy told the BBC.

The Leicester City boss acknowledged the team’s struggles without Ndidi, who has been sidelined due to injury. “We know how much we’ve missed him, and we know we need him. Wilf is key in the coming months, a key part of this team that can get us out of this situation.”

Ndidi has been a mainstay at Leicester City since joining the club in January 2017. This season, he has registered three assists in 15 league appearances for the former Premier League champions. With Van Nistelrooy’s reassurance, Ndidi is set to play a vital role in Leicester City’s push for a strong finish to the season.
